Tigers swamped by Florida, lose fourth straight
COLUMBIA- The Missouri Tigers were swamped by the Florida Gators 23-6 on Saturday afternoon.
Both teams started off slow and weren't able to gain any momentum in the first half. The Gators put up the only points in the first quarter with a 47 yard field goal by Evan McPherson less than three minutes into the game.
After a defensive showcase by both teams, Kelly Bryant led the Tigers down the field with precision and accuracy to get into field goal range. The Tigers offense stalled and the team was lucky to come away with points after Tucker McCann's kick bounced off the upright and through to tie up the game at 3-3.
On the ensuing drive, Florida's offense came away with another field goal by Evan McPherson, this time from 39 yards out, putting the Gators up 6-3 going into halftime.
On the Gators first drive of the second half they marched down the field and scored on a 34 yard touchdown pass from Kyle Trask to Josh Hammond extending the lead to 13-3.
The Tigers answered quickly with a 28 yard field goal from Tucker McCann to bring the score to 13-6.
The Gators then pushed the game out of reach as Trask capped off a 75 yard drive with a 15 yard touchdown pass to Lamical Perine to put Florida up by two touchdowns.
Florida capped off its second half dominance with a 22 yard field goal from Evan McPherson to bring the score to 23-6 Florida.
With the win, Florida improves to 9-2 and heads back to Gainesville to host in-state rival Florida State in the final game of the season on November 30.
