COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. - Long-time Yankees shortstop, Derek Jeter, and brief Cardinals right fielder, Larry Walker have been named as the 2020 inductees to the National Baseball Hall of Fame announced on MLB Network Tuesday night.

Jeter gets the nod on his first ballot appearance with a near unanimous vote earning 396 of the 397 possible votes. With this honor, Jeter becomes the first Hall of Famer to achieve the threshold of 3,000 hits, Rookie of the Year, All Star Game MVP and World Series MVP in their career.

Walker has a very different story, gaining his induction on his tenth and final time appearing on the ballot. With just six votes to spare, Walker appeared on 76.6 percent of ballots and saw great improvement from the 54.6 percent of votes he recieved last year. He spent his career playing for the Montreal Expos and Colorado Rockies before finishing out the final two years of his career in St. Louis with the Cardinals.

Jeter and Walker will head to Cooperstown for their official induction on July 26.
