Cougars name Jones-Olson as volleyball coach
COLUMBIA - Columbia College tapped Allison Jones-Olson as its next head volleyball coach Monday afternoon.
Jones-Olson is the first hire by new athletic director James Arnold, who assumed the position from Bob Burchard at the start of May.
She previously coached Central Methodist University for six years, serving as the senior women's administrator for the last three. Jones-Olson also coached at William Jewell College.
Leading the Eagles, Jones-Olson compiled a 153-65 record, including a 32-8 record last season and the program's first ever NAIA National Tournament Appearance.
"I am extremely pleased that Allison will be our next Head Volleyball Coach," Arnold said in a statement. "She has a tremendous track record of success on and off the court and I am confident she will continue the outstanding tradition of Cougar volleyball."
"I'm thankful and extremely grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of Columbia College," Jones-Olson said. "I am excited to continue to build on the program's tradition and history of success both on and off the court!"
Jones-Olson takes the reigns June 3.
